NAISA is now offering discounted short-term accommodation for its artist residency space for artists who want to focus on their work in a distraction-free environment. The Artist Residency Space, located within NAISA North Media Arts Centre, is a one-bedroom self-contained unit in the heart of South River in the Almaguin Highlands. South River is a neighbour to 2 provincial parks with Mikisew Provincial Park 12 kilometers to the west and a paddling entrance to Algonquin Park only 20 kilometers to the east. The residency space is available for weekly rentals and is ideal for artists looking for a space to edit sounds/video, paint, or write. It is very close to the Ontario Northland bus stop and highway access.
There is a small fully equipped kitchen, dining area, sitting area, bedroom, 3-piece bathroom and workspace that is within its own self-contained unit. Free WiFi is included. The residency space is walking distance to a grocery store, restaurants, a gas station, and steps away from the Ontario Northland bus stop. It is only 5 minutes off of the highway.
NAISA has equipment available for rental during your residency in the residency space. Equipment includes studio monitor speakers, studio and field recording microphones, video display monitors, and soldering equipment. Rental includes assistance from technician for basic set up.
NAISA’s Artist Residency space is ideal for artists who need a quiet environment to work, meet a deadline, conduct research, edit sound/video, paint, or simply to escape urban life. All residencies are self-directed.
Artist Residency Rates are $345 CDN per week plus $50 for each additional guest. Kitchen access is available 24/7 as it’s within the residency space. Additional costs for technical assistance and instruction.
