PWYC (Pay-What-You-Can)
Join us this summer from June 29 to September 4 at the NAISA North where children big and small can become sound art performers and active listeners both through learning how to craft and shape a performance and through learning how to better understand our everyday sound environments through listening exercises. Come by and let your children test the programme out for themselves.
Culture Days - Playing the Sound Mods
9:00-7:30 Friday September 29, 9:00-4:00 Saturday September 30 and Sunday October 1
NAISA North Media Arts Centre, 106 Ottawa Ave, South River
During Culture Days visit the new NAISA North Media Arts Centre & Cafe in South River and explore a new interactive exhibit "The Sound Mods of James Kirkpatrick". This exhibit features colourful sculptures that also function as musical instruments which individuals or groups can jam on. The sculptures are made by James Kirkpatrick from modified electronic games and toys and are painted in the London, Ontario artist's distinctive style. NAISA Artistic Director Darren Copeland will be on hand all weekend to guide you through the exhibition.
